We had the opportunity to team up with 2KM Architects to work on an interior renovation for an Augusta University construction and engineering office. The University expressed a strong desire for a space with an industrial look utilizing natural light. In the pre-construction phase of the Design Build, we collaborated with the design teams, enabling simultaneous pricing, and thereby ensuring the best use of the budget. To meet the architectural vision, we demolished the existing exterior brick walls and installed storefront glass. Then, to accentuate the incoming light, Heavener and Associates built half walls and installed glass tops. Exposed ceilings and concrete floor slab gave the space an industrial feel. Adding custom plan tables and a mechanical system for individual room climate control provided function and comfort to the new office.
